The 2025–26 Queensland Budget has delivered major investment in community safety, essential services and local infrastructure for the Beaudesert region, while also supporting first home buyers and community organisations across the region.
After years of inaction under Labor, the LNP Government is getting on with the job of building safer, more reliable roads, including the funding of critical plans for upgrades to a number of sections of the Mount Lindesay Highway between Beaudesert and Jimboomba.
Additional investment will see planning undertaken for improvements to Coulson Crossing on the Boonah-Beaudesert Road, and Main Roads will also be undertaking planning for the installation of overtaking lanes on that road.
There will be significant safety upgrades for Beaudesert-Nerang Road and the intersection of Mundoolun Connection Road and Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road, an accident hot-spot that locals know has been neglected for far too long.
The Budget will also deliver support for emergency services across the Scenic Rim, including the construction of the Biddaddaba Rural Fire Brigade station.
Other budget items benefiting the Beaudesert region include:
- A $4.8 million investment for the construction of a new indoor multi-sports facility in Beaudesert;
- A combined sum of nearly $2.5 million for Rathdowney, Gleneagle and Hillview State Schools for improvements to facilities and learning environments;
- $2.8 million to deliver new change facilities at Coronation Park in Boonah and Selwyn Park in Beaudesert;
- More than half a million dollars for the improvement of wireless telecommunications infrastructure through the NBN Regional Co-Investment Fund to enhance digital connectivity for homes, schools and local businesses;
- Cost-of-living relief for Scenic Rim families, with $300 in vouchers for education essentials and children’s sport; and
- The abolition of stamp duty for first-home buyers and extension of the $30,000 First Home Owner Grant.
