BUDGET BOOST FOR THE FASSIFERN

The 2025-26 Queensland Budget has delivered major investment in community safety, essential services and local infrastructure for the Fassifern Region, while also supporting first home buyers and community organisations across the region.

After years of inaction under Labor, the LNP Government is getting on with the job of building safer, more reliable roads, securing, among other projects, the inclusion on Main Roads’ works program critical planning to fix the Coulson Crossing on Boonah-Beaudesert Road.

It is also tasking Main Roads to do the planning work required for overtaking lanes to be constructed on Boonah-Beaudesert Road.

The Budget will deliver support for emergency services, including $4 million to fund the Boonah auxiliary fire and rescue station and funding for the Mount Alford Rural Fire Brigade station.

Other Budget items for the Fassifern region include:

  • $2.8 million for new change facilities at Coronation Park in Boonah;
  • Investment to advance the planning stages for improvements to the Boonah Hospital under the Hospital Rescue Plan; and
  • More than half a million dollars for the improvement of wireless telecommunications infrastructure through the NBN Regional Co-Investment Fund to enhance digital connectivity for homes, school and local businesses.
