SCENIC RIM RFB RECEIVE NEW FACILITIES

After years of advocacy, the Biddaddaba and Mt Alford Rural Fire Brigades are getting new three-bay fire sheds built at Four Mile Lane, Boyland, and along Mt Alford Road.

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, says: “It’s great to have been able to deliver this as part of the LNP government. I’ve worked with the rural brigades for several years now to get these sheds out of the ground.”

The new sheds will feature three appliance parking bays, a dedicated training room, personal amenities, an office space to support essential day-to-day brigade operations and storage space for personal protective clothing and equipment. The Mount Alford facility will also include extra accommodation for the brigade’s tanker.

“The LNP Government will continue to invest in frontline emergency responses across the Scenic Rim. I was glad to represent Minister Ann Leahy at the recent sod turns, and I welcome the emergency upgrades in the Scenic Rim,” says Mr Krause.

These purpose-built facilities will serve as a base of operations for more than 70 local volunteer firefighters who devote countless hours to protect their communities, strengthening emergency responses and improving training opportunities.
