A fresh round of the highly successful Skilling Queenslanders for Work program has been launched, backing community organisations to provide training and work experience.
Applications for the $80 million 2026-27 funding round close on 7 May,
Funding is available under three programs:
- Community Work Skills
- Work Skills Traineeships, and
- Get Set for Work
Last year’s program funded 180 projects across the State and created 5443 pathways to employment for people who would otherwise face barriers to finding work.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause said the LNP Government was committed to helping Queenslanders obtain the skills they needed for the jobs they wanted.
“This program is proof we’re backing them to get work,” he said.
“I encourage local organisations, training providers and councils to apply and help create opportunities for people in their communities.”
