LOCAL FUNDING PROVIDES FOR PISTOL CLUB

Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause MP, has congratulated the Beaudesert Pistol Club on the important upgrades made to the club’s facilities through grant funding received from Scenic Rim Regional Council’s Community Grants Program.

Mr Krause said he was pleased to have supported the club’s successful application, which will improve accessibility, safety and training opportunities for members.

“Beaudesert Pistol Club is taking great initiative to improve their competition and training facilities, and has recently received grant funding to support them – grant applications I am pleased to have supported,” Mr Krause said.

“The upgrades being delivered will make a real difference for members and help ensure the club can continue to grow and thrive.”

The funding supported a range of improvements across the grounds, including new concrete to provide wheelchair access, upgraded lighting in Range Four, and general building refurbishments.

Beaudesert Pistol Club is home to a dedicated group of local shooters and boasts internationally recognised pistol coach Garry Willett. With improved facilities and expert coaching, the club is focused on growing its membership and attracting participants across all age groups.

The club currently has members ranging in age from just 14 through to 90 years old, highlighting its strong community appeal and inclusive culture.

“Local sporting clubs are the backbone of our communities, and it’s great to see local government funding delivering practical improvements that members can benefit from every week,” Mr Krause said.

“It was great to meet with the committee and volunteers, hear about their plans for the future, and even fire off a couple of rounds. I look forward to supporting them in their future endeavours to grow the club.”
