The Queensland Redistribution Commission (QRC) is inviting all Queenslanders to have their say on the review of state electoral boundaries. In accordance with section 42 of the Electoral Act 1992, the QRC has given notice, published in the Queensland Government Gazette, that suggestions are invited from persons and bodies relating to the redistribution. You can find the discussion paper, submission guidelines and enrolment statistics at redistribution.ecq.qld.gov.au. This invitation for submissions is the first stage of a four-stage public consultation process that will occur over the next year. Stage 1: The QRC will invite suggestions relating to the redistribution such as proposed changes to electoral boundaries or electorate names (now open). Stage 2: the QRC will invite comments on suggestions received during the first stage of consultation, which will be published on the QRC website. Stage 3: the QRC will publish the proposed redistribution and invite any objections to the proposed new electoral boundaries. Stage 4: The QRC will invite comments on the objections to the proposed electoral boundaries, which will be published on the QRC website.
