The LNP Government has extended the $30,000 First Home Owner Grant for another year.
Under the former Labor Government, it was due to expire at the end this month but will now be available until 30 June 2026.
The first Home Owner Grant extension follows the LNP Government’s recent abolition of stamp duty for eligible first home buyers who purchase or build a new home in Queensland.
Premier David Crisafulli said that Queensland was currently sitting at the bottom of the home ownership ladder, lagging behind other states, but the LNP Government was committed to raising home ownership to the highest in the nation within a decade.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said supporting home ownership was a priority for the Government.
“The Home Owners Grant is available for eligible buyers or builders of new homes with contracts signed between 20 November 2023 and 30 June 2026
“For eligible owner-builders, the foundations must be laid between these dates. The total value of the home and land must be less than $750,000.”
