Tamborine-Oxenford Road Improvement Works

Transport and Main Roads (TMR) have started road improvement works on Tamborine-Oxenford Road which include road shoulder widening, earthworks, drainage, and changes to the road alignment over a 280-metre curve between Tolima Drive and Hayes Road to improve safety. Work is scheduled to be completed by mid-2020.

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said that he is aware that roadworks on Tamborine-Oxenford Road in the past have been frustrating, with lengthy delays and a lack of public communication causing losses to business and safety issues for motorists.

“I know the anger of everyone affected, the losses to business, and the frustration and safety issues for motorists caused by the delays in previous roadworks.”

“As your local representative I’m always here to receive your feedback and make representations on behalf of the community to hopefully ensure that Main Roads doesn’t let the residents of Tamborine Mountain down, again.”

Mr Krause said that it was a relief to see the work underway on Tamborine-Oxenford Road and he will keep working to improve roads to ensure the safety of mountain motorists.

The day works will take place between 6AM and 6PM and changed traffic conditions will apply.
