State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, has again contacted the Minister for Transport and Main Roads in regard to flashing school zone lights at Aratula State School, after he was advised in September last year that the school had been prioritised to receive the infrastructure in 2019.
“They should just get in and put the lights up and stop the delays.”
Mr Krause said that the school community at Aratula is concerned for the safety of their children after witnessing a number of unsafe road practices.
“I will continue to ensure that our children are kept safe at school. I’ve been contacted by concerned community members who see the dangers that exist here every day – it’s nearly half was through 2019 and not a word has been spoken about the planned instalment of school zone lights at Aratula State School.”
“It’s disappointing that Labor has still not recognised the important safety issues that exist at the school.”
“All we are seeking is for the Government to do all things possible to keep our children safe.”
“The school community has been lobbying for this for a long time now, and I will continue to represent those concerned and fight for the safety of our children and their families until necessary infrastructure is installed,” Mr Krause said.
