The Crisafulli Government is delivering $2.5 million through the 2026–27 Show Societies Grants Program, backing 127 agricultural shows and the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies.
The Crisafulli Government delivered the first permanent funding boost for Queensland Ag Shows in nearly 20 years, committing an additional $500,000 annually to bring total funding to $2.5 million.
The increased funding will help cover operating costs and maintain and improve showground infrastructure, ensuring these much-loved events can continue bringing communities together and celebrating Queensland’s agricultural heritage.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said agricultural shows are at the heart of many Scenic Rim communities, bringing people together and celebrating the region’s rich agricultural heritage.
“From Beaudesert and Boonah to Kalbar and Canungra, our local shows are made possible by dedicated volunteers who put in countless hours behind the scenes to create events that our communities look forward to each year.” Said Mr Krause.
“Agricultural shows not only showcase the best of our local farming industries, they also provide an important boost for local businesses, community groups and tourism across the Scenic Rim.”
“I welcome the Crisafulli Government’s ongoing commitment to supporting Queensland agricultural shows through increased funding, which will help local show societies maintain their facilities, strengthen their events and continue bringing our communities together for years to come.”
“This investment recognises the valuable contribution of volunteers and helps ensure our much-loved country shows remain a vibrant part of regional Queensland life.”
