Community Consultation Open for Bromelton Energy and Resource Centre Proposal

Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, is informing residents of the opening of the formal public consultation process for the proposed Bromelton Energy and Resource Centre (BERC).

The State Development Application for the proposed facility is currently on exhibition through the Office of the Coordinator-General, with submissions open until 16 November 2026. Technical assessments covering matters such as air quality, noise, traffic, water, human health, operational safety and visual impacts are available for public review.

Mr Krause said the consultation period provides an important opportunity for local residents to examine the information available and share their views.

“This proposal has generated significant interest throughout the community, and people hold a range of views about it.”

Mr Krause said it was important that community members take the time to review the available information and then make a submission if they wished to contribute to the assessment process.

“Whether you support the proposal, oppose it, or are still forming your view, this consultation process is the avenue to have your say, and for that say to be considered by the ultimate decision maker – in this case the Co-ordinator General.”

Residents who would like further information can access the application materials through the Office of the Coordinator-General.
