In a terrific win for the community, the long-awaited safety upgrade of the Beaudesert-Nerang Road between Mundoolun Connection Road in Wonglepong and Biddaddaba Road in Biddaddaba has been completed.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said the people of Wonglepong and Biddaddaba had been waiting for more than 35 years for the upgrade.
“And I am proud to see the upgrade finally delivered under the LNP Government.”
The $5.2 million project, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments, has improved sight visibility for motorists with modifications to the crest at the top of the hill, tree clearing, pavement widening, bitumen sealing and formal line marking.
“I have advocated without letup for its completion since being elected to Parliament in 2011, with tireless support from George Massam and Robert Cawley of the Biddaddaba Creek Action Croup (BCAG),” said Mr Krause.
“I again want to extend my thanks to the BCAG for their dedication and persistence over three decades. They and the community never wavered in their campaigning.”
