TransitCare’s trial Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) service between Tamborine Mountain and Helensvale will become permanent on 29 September.
In tandem with the existing permanent Beenleigh service, it will continue connecting residents to key public transport, retail and employment hubs.
Timetabled weekday services cost passengers just 50 cents under the LNP’s permanent 50 cents fare initiative.
There are four daily return trips to Helensvale and one daily return trip to Beenleigh.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said he was proud to announce this “fantastic outcome” for Tamborine Mountain.
“I thank those who have consistently advocated for this, especially Mountain residents and organisations such as Tamborine Mountain Chamber of Commerce and the local Rotary Club,” he said.
TransitCare’s Helensvale and Beenleigh services will pick you up from your desired location in either Tamborine Mountain, or Eagle Heights.
You can book trips Monday to Friday between 7am and 6pm.
Bookings must be made at least one hour before you travel.
For the first trip of the day, bookings must be made by 6pm the day before you travel.
