The Crisafulli Government is unlocking the door to home ownership by abolishing stamp duty for eligible first home buyers purchasing or building a new home in Queensland.
This major cost of living relief measure came into effect on May 1.
Queenslanders building their first home will now not pay a single cent in stamp duty.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said every Queenslander deserved a place to call home, and abolishing stamp duty was a critical step in helping make this a reality.
“This is a commonsense change that will provide real cost of living relief,” he said.
