Work is continuing on the reconstruction project to restore the bushfire-damaged section of the Cunningham Highway at Cunningham’s Gap.
Rockfall protection includes draped mesh on the rock faces and six-metre-high protection fencing extending over one kilometre.
Work crews at the project site will take a break during the holiday period from 20 December to 6 January. Westbound and eastbound traffic lanes will be open.
All walking tracks in the Main Range National Park can be accessed via the Box Forest Track located at the West Gap Creek picnic area and car park.
Park signage to inform hikers has been updated at the entrance to the Box Forest Track.
