Mutdapilly School Celebrates 150 Years

Former students, teachers and staff have joined with local communities to celebrate 150 years since Mutdapilly State School, then known as Normanby National School, opened its doors.

Since 1874 the school has played an important role in providing education and shaping the lives of the local communities of Mutdapilly, Coleyville and Mount Forbes.

Our schools hold a great deal of history about our local communities, as they have been and continue to be a place that everyone (generally) is associated with at some time in their life.

The anniversary gathering was a terrific community event, with past students, teachers and staff from the 1950s through to the 2020s gathering – along with many others in the community. There was a real buzz in the air. Thank you to all who made it happen, and it was a pleasure to be there and to mark this historic occasion.

Congratulations Mutdapilly State School!
