Boonah Students Shine at Beef Week 2024

I was able to visit the Beef Week Australia Expo in Rockhampton earlier this month and it was great to see so many visitors from the Fassifern and Beaudesert districts in attendance, including some students from Boonah State High School.

Beef Week Australia is the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and while our local producers are smaller in number compared to Central and Northern Queensland, they make a significant economic contribution to the Scenic Rim Electorate.

They certainly made their presence felt in Rockhampton where they were seeking to learn about new technology in the beef industry and to inspect the huge trade displays.

A special shout-out to the Boonah State High School Cattle Club members who travelled to Rocky by train; they had a wonderful educational experience and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the competition section of the expo by leading cattle during the judging. They are a credit to their school, families and the region.
