14 Local Organisations’ Community Fund Success

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said 14 not-for-profit organisations in the electorate had received $251,528 in funding grants from Round 119 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund

The grants ranged from $1000 to $35,000. 

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund, which is administered by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program. It provides grants to organisations to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and economic opportunities for their local communities. 

Since Mr Krause’s election in 2012 Scenic Rim community organisations have received funding of more than $13 million from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund. 

The successful organisations in Round 119 were: 

Beaudesert and District Branch Little Athletics Centre Inc ($13,602.50 to purchase high jump equipment)

Beaudesert U3A Inc ($8074 towards conference).

Beechmont Football Association Inc ($32,500 to repair playing field)

Boonah District Chamber of Commerce Inc ($22,100 to host Christmas Festival)

Canungra and District Historical Association Inc ($14,974.85 to purchase IT equipment and software).

Canungra Bowls Club Inc ($9700 to purchase mower).

Canungra Sports and Recreation Reserve Grounds Inc ($31,820 to repair entrance driveway)

Guides Queensland – Beaudesert District ($35,000 to paint building exterior)

Harrisville Neighbourhood Watch – Rural Association Inc ($5985.28 to produce newsletter)

Kooralbyn Valley MTB Club Inc ($24,000 to upgrade trails and purchase fire-fighting equipment)

Rathdowney and Districts Soccer Club Inc ($28,149 to purchase mower)

Returned & Services League of Australia (Queensland Branch) Kalbar Sub Branch ($8623 to research and print military history honour roll)

Scenic Rim Regional Cadets Inc ($16,000 to purchase trailer)

U3A Tamborine Mountain Inc ($1000 to purchase laptop).
