Few Scenic Rim social events are as uplifting and rewarding as Tamborine Mountain Lions Club’s recent Dancing with Celebrities, the gala night at the Vonda Youngman Community Centre which paired Mountain Mates participants with local ‘celebrities’.
Mountain Mates is an inspiring social group of young adults with a disability and integrates people with and without disability in a mutually beneficial way.
Dancing with Celebrities featured a two-course dinner, dancing to live music, raffles, silent auction and prizes and was generously sponsored by a diverse group of individuals, groups and businesses by way of cash donations, in-kind donations, prizes and auctions items.
What a delight it was to attend this truly joyous occasion and to see the community come together as it did.
