Krause joins Taiwan National Day celebrations in Brisbane 

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, represented LNP Leader David Crisfulli, at the 112th Taiwan National Day celebrations at SunPAC cultural precinct in Sunnybank, Brisbane. 

Mr Krause addressed the audience of the local Taiwanese community in Brisbane, members of the Consular Corps and other invited guests 

He emphasized the strong friendship between Australia and Taiwan, including the fact that the trading relationship between Australia and Taiwan is Australia’s seventh largest on a two-way basis. 

“Importantly, agricultural and other natural resources, worth $32.6 billion, play a vital part in this export trade,” Mr Krause said. 

He also emphasised the shared values of democracy, freedom, and the rule of law which underline those values shared by Australia and Taiwan.  

“Australia has always been willing and remains willing to stand up for its values when they are threatened and that includes looking out for friends, like Taiwan. 

Mr Krause was joined by Parliamentary colleagues Andrew Powell, Member for Glasshouse, and Rob Molhoek, Member for Southport, as well as Queensland Government Ministers and former federal Minister Gary Hardgrave at the event.
