FREE REPLACEMENT LICENCES

The LNP Government is providing greater support for victims of crime by waiving the cost of replacing driver licences, number plates and other key identification documents that have been stolen or damaged in a crime.

The Government has made it free for Queenslanders who are victims of a crime to replace their:

  • Driver licence
  • Photo identification card
  • Industry authority card, and
  • eligible number plate.

Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said the changes applied where these items had been stolen, maliciously damaged, destroyed or lost because of a crime, including driver licences compromised by cyber-crime.

β€œThe free replacement of stolen driver licences and number plates is a small way that we are helping to alleviate financial stress on crime victims, allowing them to focus on recovery,” he said.
