The LNP Government is encouraging Queenslanders to help shape the State’s first Veterans and Veterans’ Families Strategy.
Queensland is home to the largest population of veterans in Australia yet is the only jurisdiction without a dedicated whole-of-government veterans’ strategy.
Premier and Minister for Veterans, David Crisafulli, said the strategy would strengthen outcomes for veterans and their families.
“We want to hear about the issues faced by veterans, their families, and their communities, including transitioning to civilian life, employment issues, and health and wellbeing, so we can improve their experience during and after service.
“Veterans have a positive role to play in community life and have a unique outlook and knowledge, which is why we want them to provide input into the strategy.”
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said Queensland was home to 163,000 current and former Australian Defence Force personnel living in the State.
He said consultation for the strategy was now open, with an online survey for all Queenslanders to take part in.

The survey closes on 14 November.
