The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) will be undertaking safety improvements on a 650m section of Guanaba Road and Henri Robert Drive, Tamborine Mountain, commencing in late August and continuing for two months.
The project will address challenges associated with the hairpin shaped bend, near Leona Court, which has seen a number of wet weather crashes and road safety incidents.
Key safety improvements will include the installation of vehicle activated signs and a guardrail barrier system for motor cyclist safety.
Work activity will include drainage improvements, replacement of culverts and line marking.
Weather permitting, work will be between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with some night or weekend work as required.
The speed limit will be reduced to 40km/hr in some sections with one lane closure as required.
