The LNP Government will award grants of up to $50,000 to eligible projects that tackle rubbish pollution in Queensland.
The grants will be awarded to on-ground projects which encourage communities and volunteers to participate in the removal of harmful litter from parks and reserves, and marine debris from beaches, creeks, rivers and wetlands.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said the Government would deliver a total of $500,000 to eligible waste clean-up initiatives under the Community Sustainability Action grant program.
“Every piece of rubbish we keep out of the environment makes a difference,” he said.
Applications close at 4pm, 27 March.
