GOVERNMENT TO ABOLISH FIRST HOME BUYER STAMP DUTY ON NEW BUILDS

Thousands of Queenslanders are expected to benefit from the LNP Government’s abolition of stamp duty on new homes for first home buyers from May 1.

Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said Labor had locked Queenslanders out of the housing market by failing to address the cost of living, or tackle housing affordability for a decade, resulting in Queensland recording the nation’s lowest rate of home ownership in the nation.

“Scrapping first home buyer stamp duty on new builds provides real savings,” he said.
