The LNP Government is rolling out an innovative online road safety education program for Years 5 and 6 students.
The program, entitled Journi, teaches students about safety on and around roads, and includes e-scooter and shared pathway education.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said road trauma remained the leading cause of death for children aged one to 14 in Australia.
“Journi will help equip young students with essential road safety skills that could one day save their lives,” he said.
“It has been carefully designed with specialist input from the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and the Australian Road Safety Foundation, as well as from teachers and students, to ensure its effectiveness in the classroom.”
