What a treat it was to attend the recent Tamrookum State School leadership assembly.
The school’s 130 students, supported by family and friends, gathered in the undercover area for the school’s badge ceremony and presentation of certificates for school leaders.
I was honoured to be asked to assist in the ceremony and to provide letters of congratulations to the students.
Each time I visit Tamrookum State School I am struck by its beautiful setting, looking out as it does on an attractive seasonal lagoon.
It was opened in 1939 and has a steadily growing enrolment of students who enjoy the benefits of a recently undergone major upgrade that provided new buildings and sports facilities.
School Principal, Ron Lucas, is rightly very proud of his eye-catching school and its students.
