SKILLING QUEENSLANDERS FOR WORK

It was particularly pleasing to take part in the recent graduation ceremony for five young trainees who had completed their 20-week Skilling Queenslanders for Work course.

They completed a Certificate 1 in Construction course while working on building renovations and a shed conversion at the Mununjali premises in Drumley Street, Beaudesert.

They also completed training in first aid, CPR and working safely at heights.

In cooperation with Mununjali Housing and Development Company, and under the supervision of the Australian Trade Training College, they gained hands-on experience in construction, renovation and site development.

Skilling Queenslanders for Work is a Government-funded initiative that helps eligible participants develop skills, gain qualifications and provide direct assistance to enter and stay in the workforce. It offers eight different programs that deliver training to improve skills and employment opportunities.
