NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR QUEENSLAND GREATS AWARDS

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, is encouraging the community to nominate a remarkable Queenslander or institution for the annual Queensland Greats Awards.

Nominations close on 17 February.

The Queensland Greats Awards program began in 2001 to honour people and organisations who have made a meaningful contribution to, or whose achievements have significantly impacted, the history and development of Queensland.

Mr Krause said the nominations – across the categories of individual, institution and posthumous – should demonstrate a profound impact or significant contribution to Queensland.

“For more than two decades the Queensland Greats Awards have celebrated and paid tribute to remarkable individuals and institutions whose work has had a lasting influence and profound impact on Queensland.”

Detailed information on the awards can be obtained by visiting website www.qld.gov.au/qldgreats, contacting the awards coordinator by email at qldgreatsawards@premiers.qld.gov.au, or telephoning (07) 3003 9200.

The State of Queensland through the Department of the Premier and Cabinet is the organiser of the Queensland Greats Awards.
