ORIGINAL VERESDALE SCRUB STATE SCHOOL BUILDING TO BE REFURBISHED

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said the original administration building at Veresdale Scrub State School would be refurbished by the Department of Education.

The refurbishment will reinstate the visual appeal of the original building which has undergone considerable change including the enclosure of its verandahs, the demolition of a verandah wall, an extension and the loss of most original doors and windows,” he said.

“In addition to reinstating the visual appeal of the original building, the department will also undertake structural rectification work, incorporate the latest access standards, and install new electrical fittings and air-conditioning.”
Work is expected to begin in mid-December and be finished in April.

The adjacent play shed at the school will also be restored. Work will include a new concrete slab, structural rectification of roof framing and supporting columns, new timber wall linings, and painting to match the existing finish.
