Disaster assistance is now available to support the Scenic Rim Regional Council’s response and recovery efforts following a week of heavy rain and flooding in the region. Sustained rainfall in the Scenic Rim area resulted in severe landslips and substantial damage to several major roads including Knapp Creek Road, south of Kooralbyn.
With the activation of the jointly funded Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), Scenic Rim Council can access financial support for the reconstruction of essential public assets and counter-disaster operations. This includes the expenses associated with immediate response and community recovery, and costs associated with emergency repairs and the reconstruction of damaged roads.
