The State Government is making 50 cent public transport fares permanent on all Translink networks in Queensland.
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said the LNP was honouring its election commitment in making 50 cent fares permanent.
“Queenslanders will continue to travel on South East Queensland bus, train, tram and ferry services, as well as Translink urban bus networks across the state, for a flat 50 cent fare,” he said.
“This is great news for all bus commuters travelling the recently improved 540 route between Beaudesert and Browns Plains.
“There are now 70 additional trips each week, including weekend services for the first time, starting 16 December, and extended operating hours on week days, with trips from 5 am to 8pm.”
Mr Krause said he would continue to advocate for an express route direct to the City from Beaudesert and for the Transport and Main Roads Department to investigate a potential new Beaudesert-Jimboomba-Loganlea and/or Beaudesert-Tamborine-Beenleigh bus route.
