After a 10 year battle, weekend bus services for the 540 bus route announced by Translink.

Weekend bus services are something I’ve worked for since 2013, and after a long fight, there is good news!
I recently received a letter from the Director-General of Transport relating to bus services in our region. The letter also stated:
“Improvements to bus route 540 are included as Stage 1 of this package, which will include the full implementation of weekend services for the first time and additional trips on weekdays.”
While there are no precise details right now, I am pleased to see that FINALLY Translink agrees that weekend services are required.
I’ll keep fighting for our fair share in the Scenic Rim!
