Early Voting in Queensland Election Starts 14 October

Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, has reminded constituents that early voting in the 2024 Queensland general election begins on 14 October.

Early voting booths will operate at three locations within the Scenic Rim electorate until 25 October, the day before general voting takes place on Saturday 26 October.

They are:

  • Boonah Cultural Centre, High Street, Boonah
  • 6 William Street, Beaudesert, and
  • Vonda Youngman Community Centre, Knoll Road, North Tamborine.

Voting hours at each of the three locations will be from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, in the week beginning 14 October and in the week beginning 21 October.

You can also vote early at Jimboomba, Ipswich and Gold Coast early voting centres. However, as these polling places are not designated as Scenic Rim Electorate polling places by the Electoral Commission, it may be faster to vote at a designated early voting centre mentioned above. The Jimboomba early voting centre is at Jimboomba Hall and the Ipswich early voting centre is at Ipswich City Mall. Robina’s early voting centre is at Robina Town Centre, and Nerang’s is at 14 Spencer Road Nerang.

By law voting is compulsory for eligible voters 18 or older. If you don’t vote you may be fined by the Queensland Electoral Commission.
