Following representations to the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), I have been advised that high impact intersection warning signage will be installed on all three legs approaching the Beaudesert-Boonah Road and Ipswich-Boonah Road intersection at Coulson early in the new financial year.
TMR said it had assessed a range of factors, including traffic volume, road condition, speed limit, sight distance and lane configuration, as well as reviewing crash history at the intersection.
In acknowledging it had a limited budget to carry out road safety improvements, it advised that currently there were sites across the region requiring road safety improvements more urgently and of a higher priority for funding.
TMR added: “Your constituents’ concerns have been noted for consideration in any future planning for this section of Beaudesert-Boonah Road.”
