Funding for 12 Not-For-Profits in Scenic Rim

State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said 12 not-for-profit organisations in the electorate had received a total of $254,746 in funding grants from Round 120 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.

The grants ranged from $3404 to $34,108.

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF), which is administered by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program. It provides grants to organisations to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and economic opportunities for their local communities.

Since Mr Krause’s election in 2012 Scenic Rim community organisations have received funding of more than $13 million from the GCBF.

The successful organisations in Round 120 were:

  • Beaudesert Cycling Club – $5000 (purchase storage container)
  • Beaudesert Districts Orchid and Foliage Society – $3404 (purchase laptop and projector)
  • Binna Burra Foundation Limited – $30,000 (produce children’s book)
  • Boonah and District Family Day Care Association – $30,000 (purchase vehicle)
  • Boonah Amateur Swimming Club – $34,000 (purchase pool covers and electric winder)
  • Boonah Community Garden – $6299 (purchase mower)
  • Fassifern Community Men’s Shed – $6948 (upgrade lighting and electrics; purchase router table)
  • Leadership under the Stars – $31,000 (purchase trailer)
  • Mundoolun Estate Community and Environmental Group – $29,117 (install air-conditioning)
  • Rathdowney Memorial Bowls Club – $34,108 (install air-conditioning and storage cabinetry)
  • Scenic Rim Agricultural Expo – $32,950 (host Scenic Rim Agricultural Expo)
  • Tamborine Mountain Community Care Association – $11,918 (purchase generator and install door.
