A PCYC for Beaudesert is something I’ve backed from day 1. I’ve gone to Parliament, and met with government officials, urging them to back this project. This paid off with a $5 million commitment from the State Government last year. This was a good start, but is not the end of the story. Now we need to secure land for the PCYC, and then further funding to build the project.
Just in the past few weeks I have again urged the Government to sort out the land for the PCYC as soon as possible so that more funding can be fought for to build the PCYC.
The Minister for Resources has advised that the Department prioritised this matter, and is working with Scenic Rim Regional Council on the required “Land Management Plan” that must be put in place by Council before a PCYC can be built.
The Minister now awaits an amended Land Management before making a final decision.
Our community has been terrific in advocating for a PCYC and I’ll keep backing them up on this.
