10 Year Anniversary of Maternity Services at Beaudesert Hospital

It has been 10 years since the official re-opening of maternity services at Beaudesert Hospital by the LNP Government.

State MP Jon Krause said he is still proud that a LNP Government, and a terrific effort from the entire community, got these services restored in Beaudesert.

“It has benefitted us all so much. I am continuing through all of my work to improve services at Beaudesert Hospital, especially for improved doctor coverage overnight and at weekends,” Mr Krause said.

Since 2014, countless families have been able to give birth closer to home and family. Bringing back maternity also brought a huge amount of other expertise through the doctors, nurses and midwives working at the hospital – for emergency departments, for surgical/procedural services, and for caring for people in the ward.

Mr Krause said that bringing back these services was a massive effort – by the community, by doctors, midwives and staff at Metro South.

“Then Minister for Health Lawrence Springborg and I were determined to make it happen, despite some saying it was too hard. Thanks to all of the doctors, nurses, midwives and others who have contributed to ensuring Beaudesert Maternity is thriving, and Beaudesert Hospital continues to serve our district,” Mr Krause said.
