State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, said nine not-for-profit organisations in the Electorate had received $195,525.30 in funding grants from Round 117 of the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
The grants ranged from $4755 to $35,000.
The Gambling Community Benefit Fund, which is administered by the Department of Justice and Attorney-General, is Queensland’s largest one-off grants program. It provides grants to organisations to enhance their capacity to provide services, leisure activities and economic opportunities for their local communities.
Since Mr Krause’s election in 2012 Scenic Rim community organisations have received funding of more than $13 million from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund.
The successful organisations in Round 117 were:
Beechmont Cricket Club ($15,000 to install shade sail, screen and purchase equipment)
First Tamborine Mountain Girl Guides ($4755 to install security alarm and CCTV system)
Kooralbyn Community Group ($27,753 to purchase equipment and upgrade facility)
Maroon Ski Club ($24,298.49 to upgrade facility)
Rathdowney and District Pony Club ($35,000 to upgrade kitchen facilities)
Rosewood RSL Sub Branch ($20,749.51 to upgrade kitchen)
Southside Western Performance Club ($35,000 to purchase trailer, ride-on mower, and trail bridge)
Beaudesert Gymnastic Club ($17,570.30 to purchase gymnastic equipment)
Queensland Barefoot Water Ski Club Southern Region ($15,399 to purchase timing system and water ski equipment).
