It was a pleasure to join present and past pupils at Woodhill State School for the extraction of a time capsule that had been encased in a concrete ‘bunker’ for 25 years.
A commemorative plaque attached to the ‘bunker’ was laid by then Minister for Education, Bob Quinn, on 30 May 1998.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the school and the time capsule has been extracted ahead of celebrations planned for December 1 so its contents can be displayed then – something I am looking forward to.
