State Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, has received confirmation that repair works scheduled for a two-kilometre section of Running Creek Road has been extended to a stretch of four kilometres.
The road improvement works include pavement repairs, resealing, drain clearing, line marking, and signage works – scheduled to be completed by late December 2019.
Mr Krause said that locals in the area had continually told him about the poor and dangerous condition of Running Creek Road.
“In certain sections the road is in such poor condition it is impossible for two cars to pass, let alone trucks.”
Mr Krause said that it was a relief to see the work underway but believed that much more needed to be done to increase safety for all motorists.
“Thank you to the residents who contacted me concerned about the condition of Running Creek Road, I will continue to fight to bring our fair share of infrastructure and maintenance to the Scenic Rim community, including those south of Beaudesert whose livelihoods rely on travelling these roads daily,” Mr Krause said.
