Following his re-selection as the LNP’s nominee for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause MP says “We need a change in government to get Queensland working again.”
Member for Scenic Rim, Jon Krause, was on Saturday confirmed as the Liberal National Party’s candidate for the Scenic Rim Electorate for the 2020 Queensland election.
Mr Krause said he is honoured to be selected again as the LNP candidate, the fourth time since 2011, and is fired up to deliver for the region – starting with removing Labor from government at the Queensland election in 2020.
“Every day I go into fight for better roads locally, a fairer deal for our farmers, and lower taxes for our small businesses.”
“Our community needs to get its fair share from Brisbane, and only a change in government will deliver that.”
Mr Krause said the Labor Government had introduced 9 new taxes on Queenslanders and public spending and debt was out of control, approaching $90 billion over the budget period.
“While Australia’s unemployment as a whole goes down, Queensland’s is rising – we are now the economic basketcase of the nation, with unemployment worse than even Tasmania and South Australia.”
“We need to put Queensland back in its place as an economic powerhouse and give business confidence to invest and grow – not slug them with more taxes and more red-tape that destroys confidence.”
Fixing Labor’s flawed vegetation management laws, improving health services at Beaudesert, Boonah and Ipswich hospitals, securing more police resources, and upgrades to the Mt Lindesay Highway and Cunningham Highway and on a long list of other State-controlled roads would be key priorities for Mr Krause leading into the election and for an incoming LNP Government.
Mr Krause thanked the members of the Liberal National Party for again placing their confidence in him to represent the party. There were no other nominations received by the party for the position.
